Grub Control

Grubs are the most common lawn pests. Grubs are larvae staged beetles. They become an infestation that continuously feed on healthy grass roots until there is none left. Their feeding reduces important nutrients and water from the grass damaging lawns leaving a less than desirable look.

Ring Lawn Care can help you take proactive measures by applying a Grub treatment in Early Summer. This will help prevent lawn destruction and limit beetles from laying more eggs before winter.

Grub Check

They can be found in well-maintained lawns, which is usually a good sign of a healthy lawn. Living and feeding deep underground, they eventually make their way to the top of the soil. More important, catch these critters before they damage your lawn. Checking high sunlight areas of your lawn is where you can find them producing the most damage.

You can perform a grub check yourself. If there is an area you suspect, simply attempt to pull the turf up by hand. You can also cut out a small area and check as well. Look for turf areas that look burnt out.

Grubs Life Cycle

Grubs have a well-known cycle of life before they become beetles that helps pin-point when grub treatment applications can be initiated to prevent damage to your lawn and other vegetation.

  • Beetles produce eggs into your lawn during summer months
  • When these eggs hatch the feeding begins, usually around August
  • Winter season forces Grubs to seek shelter deep into your soil
  • Spring will start this cycle of life again

Japanese Beetles and June Bugs feed on tree leaves, shrubs and grass. Applying a grub control treatment for your lawn will be the most beneficial thing you can do to prevent beetles from laying their eggs.
